Villa Victoria Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the Call to Artists for The 2009 Juried Group Show, our 2nd annual juried exhibition. We are proud to announce that the show will be juried this year by Jen Mergel, Associate Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston.
GUIDELINES
•Artists at any stage of their career are welcome to apply.
•Artists may enter up to three pieces of art in each category, in up to three categories.
•There is a $5 nonrefundable fee for each piece of artwork entered.
•Not all entries must be for sale. However, we do allow artists to sell their work if they like.
•All entries must be original and entirely the work of the artist.
•No copies, derivatives or reproductions; work cannot be based on copyrighted or previously published materials.
•Entries must have been produced within the last three years.
•Work must not have been previously shown at the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts.
•Artists may not substitute or alter the work after it has been submitted for application.
•The Center will retain all digital images of accepted work and assumes permission to reproduce accepted artwork for promotional uses.
IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS
All entries will be juried from digital images. Digital images are required. Slides and websites will not be accepted. All entries must be submitted digitally via CD. Provide one image for each piece submitted. Two images will be accepted for three-dimensional works. File names should use numbers and letters only. Only jpeg and tif files will be accepted.
Image Dimensions:
•Pixel count should be high enough to print the image at 9 inches x 6 inches at 300 dpi.
VIDEO, FRAMING & SIZE ¬REQUIREMENTS
On-site assembly is only allowed for installations which require it. A detailed list of materials used must be included with the submission.
Drawings, Paintings, Photography and Prints:
•Finished work must not exceed 90” in height and 172” in length.
•Artwork must be wired (or have d-rings) and must be ready to hang.
Video
•Artists whose video submissions are accepted must be able to provide all materials necessary for viewing. (The CLA Gallery has the tools to do so, but we anticipate more entries than we are able to screen with our own materials.)
